Education is the most positive investment that humanity makes for its future generation. Riding high on the crest of expectation towards the goal of obtaining the highest grade point in the examination, every student feels pressurised in today’s context. In the whole process we forget the fact that our children are diverse in their academic, social, and emotional needs. What we need therefore to do is to ensure that we care more about the intellectual orientation of our children and help them accordingly within the boundaries of the system.
Education is an integrating process oriented to form integrated persons. It is a lifelong process including all influences from the cradle to the grave. It keeps modifying the behavioural patterns time to time. Hence there should be a shift in our higher expectation from 3R’s that’s reading, writing, Arithmetic to 3H’s that is Head, Heart and Hands. Head for knowledge, heart for value, hands for skills. Therefore education should lead the educand to the following aspects.
Education should give right values. It must cultivate right attitudes helping one to have the correct behavioural patterns. Everyone who influences the child must function like the four wheels of vehicles to the smooth reaching towards its Goal and take it as a collective effort. Very often we tend to blame each other instead of doing our part to help our child. The mender should be sharp and sensitive to modify one’s own behavioural pattern before he or she becomes a mender to regulate their expectation from the point of an educand.
The educator (both teachers and parents) should concentrate on the development of various areas of the students. Such as personal (self-worth and admiration), Social (being integrated with others), material (awareness about the things and world around us), transcended (God).
Children have their needs, dreams, and intrinsic worth that must be recognised and appreciated and supported within the knowledge pool of ours for the future generation. It is also significant that every child should have the opportunity to grow up in a setting that values children and provides condition for their safe and secure environment that respect diversity. We must equip the child to be self-reliant, free thinking, confident and independent individual. A society of such individuals can restructure the world positively.
Every child born to this earth is fashioned with a definite purpose. Hence every child is like a fine seed which has the potential to grow if it is nurtured with tender care attention and proper guidance.
A kind word to dear parents. Parents should focus not only in the academic excellence, but also in the character developments like politeness, courtesy, discipline, social sensitivity, responsibility and sincerity. Acquisition of good character is above physical beauty . It will bring your child to the forefront of the society. But by being selfish only in the academic excellence parents forget to prepare their child for life. Childhood is the best time to lay the foundation to the core values essential for the overall development of a future leader .Family is the primary unit in the educational process and parents are the first teachers. Children coming from good family atmosphere have proved themselves excellent in their behaviour. Accusing teachers for every drawback of their children also is not the right way. Please approve and respect our teachers and teach our students to do the same.
A humble note to our teachers. All of us like to deal with the intelligent students. But the best teacher is the one who can transform the weak and bring them to the main stream. Every child, one or the other way is an unpolished pebble of great value tarnished by the tumult and turmoil of life. Let’s polish and explore that gem of this great worth. So equip yourself to offer your student a stressfree learning environment which encourages creativity and critical thinking. The pillar of the better morrow is vested in your hands. Make all your efforts and create a society of good and matured citizens with a patriotic feeling and social concern. I believe the noblest profession is to be a teacher. A dedicated teacher lives long in the heart of their students. When challenges of this profession beat the shore of our heart we can still hope for a cheerful light of optimism as we have become the part of promoting leading architect of a prosperous and promising nation.
I whole heartedly congratulate everyone who contributed to this wonderful piece of writing called Elysium which means “blessed home”. May St. Mary’s be a blessed home for all our students!
Regards,
St. Mary’s Sr. Sec. School has maintained its excellence in academics and discipline of the students.
